Server keeps crashing/players gets thrown out
Sir Egglicious Knifealot
The server's been crashing a lot recently. For me the game also shuts down.

Not sure if it's hacking, but I've noticed the player jwrld joined the game seconds before the crash on several occasions.

I was not able to get a screenshot when the game froze..

Edit: happened 3 times in the last 30 mins now. Same guy every time.

Edit 2:
Googled the steam ID and found several bans, exploiting included.

This crash has been happening all day today

I've not been seeing any SERVER crashes - it is all players in the server crashing. This is evidenced by it being on the same map after reconnecting and it restores your GG level. So, not a server crash, which would reset to default map unless a plugin is setting it back to the map. Also, if you reconnect fast, you can see people still dropping.

This was happening in the past and I explained it here:
https://www.dogzg...ad_id=6367

Out of curiosity, I looked into your links, since I would be careful to jump to conclusions/banning without VERY clear evidence...just keep an eye on him and if he is a common denominator. He commonly goes by 'pancakes'. Looking into the links you noted:

The SG bans all appear to be a Jailbreak server. So, the one 'exploiting' ban could be anything for a JB server, which is a game mode full of rules/games/drama/children.

The 107 bans from the first link (holy crap!) appear to almost all be 5-minute "suspected spam", which sounds like a server auto-ban and does sound sus towards trying to crash a server, but again could be anything. Some servers kick/ban if you accidently roll your mouse wheel in spectate, which cycles through spectating players, spamming the command to spectate the next player. Back in the Slay Sled Gungame days, I had that happen to me a few times on accident from a mouse scroll in spectate (just auto-kicks, not bans). So, it really could be nothing, though 107 is ridiculous/sus.

One other big piece of evidence towards it possibly being pancakes - look at map connection times in Gameme:
http://gameme.dog...fo/1820296
Every map says he only played a minute or two with only a couple kills....so he connects for a couple kills and then "disconnects"...not concrete, but definitely suspect/evidence.

Anyways, outside of using a server plugin to track this (which would simplify finding a culprit immensely), the best thing players can do is notice who joins or is in the server when this occurs.

Yeah, you're right oneguy.

The server doesn't crash, we can join right after and continue with our scores.
It seems like all the active players are thrown out. The game just freezes and just shuts down.

But it seems like somehow the players in spec are not affected (I don't think Buzz Killington just sits by his pc starting the game and joining spec everytime it shuts down). Anyways, the spectators are still there when we rejoin.

Think I'll just sit in spec and watch the console next time this guy does this. He smells fishier than Tuna!

Kowl00n entered the server twice and caused everyone to get kicked out of CS. I banned him.

Says he has only ever connected to 2 maps...are you sure it wasnt coincidence when he joined? Ugh...what a frustrating issue.

I'm pretty sure now. We are playing and no incident has happened. However there may be other players doing the same thing. I will watch out for it.

I have seen this before and it has always been a player causing this issue. Once they are banned then the server is peaceful again until another attack happens.
