is anyone else had this issue trying to connect to the server . I am seeing this error " the server you are trying to connect to is running a newer version of the game ". Can someone guide me as how to fix this issue ?
I tried couple of ways but none worked
Option 1
Quick Fix: Force a Game UpdateOften, Steam simply fails to queue the latest update automatically.Restart Steam: Completely close Steam (click Steam in the top-left menu -> Exit) and reopen it. This usually forces Steam to check for missing patches.Verify Integrity of Game Filespen your Steam Library.Right-click Counter-Strike: Source and select Properties.Go to the Installed Files (or Local Files) tab.Click Verify integrity of game files. Steam will scan your game and automatically download any missing or outdated files.
Option 2
If your client is fully updated but you still cannot connect to certain community servers (like custom Surf, RPG, or Gungame servers), the server owners may be using a legacy or custom build. You can downgrade your client to match them using Steam's built-in options:Right-click Counter-Strike: Source in your Steam Library and choose Properties.Click on the Betas tab.In the "Beta Participation" drop-down menu, select previous_build.Close the menu and let Steam download the older patch files.Note: If the legacy build gives you an executable error upon launch, go back to Properties -> General and add -game cstrike to your Launch Options
