Lower Player Max Slightly

The GunGame DM Servers tend to lag a bit when they're completely full. I've talked with a few other good players who have noticed this as well. Dunno if it's the server hardware or simply a CS:S limitation (likely, it's not the greatest programmed game in the world).

I suggest lowering the player max slightly to maybe.. 28? and seeing if that helps.

I know there is high demand in the evenings, maybe a 2nd overflow server could be supported.

Just throwing it out there, love the servers in general,

It's because you are such a fast shooter and the server can't keep up with your pace, hence it lags Wink

jk, but really i think 28 players will help considerably. I have also witnessed the DM servers lagging quite a bit.

The server FPS is stable, 66.67 and CPU load is max 65%, when full. I have done lots of load monitoring on the servers. If there is a lag issue its related to a CSS limitation, or your hardware/connection.

The Source engine was never intended to run 32 player Deathmatch GunGame. It uses a lot more resources compared to regular 32 player CSS. We had to get some pretty serious hardware to run these server.

I was actually surprised how much playing on those servers really taxed my system, and I know that CS:S is well within the limitations of my rig. Makes sense Grin

yeah I can't really play anywhere else other then turbo cause just like herpes said it taxed the hell out of my resources lol
